In honor of our 100th print exchange and honoring Baren’s founding members who were all mokuhanga printers, this is an all-mokuhanga exchange.
Details:
- Medium: MOKUHANGA – woodblocks brushed with water-borne pigments, printed with baren
- Theme: Open
- Paper Size: Hashira-e (柱絵) 28 x 4.5 in (73 x 13 cm)
- Paper Type: Washi (traditional Japanese paper made primarily from kozo, mitsumata, or gampi fiber)
Deadlines:
- Registration period: April 1, 2025 to April 30, 2025
- Drop-out deadline: May 30, 2025 If you must drop out of the exchange, please do so as early as possible in order to give people on the waiting list time to complete and submit their prints.
- Delivery deadline for finished prints: June 30, 2025

Mailing – what to send where:
- One more print than the number of participants (see the participant list below). The extra print is for our [Baren] Archive.
- Self-addressed mailing label
- Sufficient return postage (in the coordinator’s native currency or postage). If you’re uncertain, send more than you think will be required. See calculate postage at USPS.com
- Send your prints in a package that can be easily reused for shipping the collated suite back to you
